Gold Coast Adventures With DriveNow Car Rental

We all get a craving for adventure once in a while.

Okay, in our case, we get a craving for it almost all the time. Especially when we’re in Australia, a country I now call my second home. With its sparkling beaches and dense bushlands and funtheme parks, there is something for every kind of thrill seeker. There is something for the hubby, for our four year-old Luna, and for me.

Planning A Roadtrip Adventure

And to make the most out of one’s Australia trip is to hire a car. I’ve been around long enough to know that. Covers more ground in less time. Plus, unlike a group tour, it gives you the flexibility to choose your own destinations. It also turns out cheap sometimes.

We’re currently settled in Gold Coast. When I say “settled” I mean we’ve been here for more than a few days. And although a lot of attractions can be reached by a short stroll/train or bus ride, we hire a car every so often because there’s nothing like a weekend family roadtrip to some distant unknown. Nothing like driving while listening to my guilty pleasure songs and the hubby going crazy over incorrectly scaled maps.

Booking With DriveNow Care Rental

It is while browsing for good deals online that I stumbled upon Gold Coast car rentals from DriveNow. DriveNow is a search engine that lets people compare car and campervan rentals. I had never used such web service before, and so I curiously poked around. I’m pretty familiar with car rental rates in Australia and the prices I found (offered by top Australia car rental companies) were awesome deals. I was also impressed by the comprehensive description of each vehicle, which pops up when the cursor hovers above each box. The details can be overwhelming, but it will set a customer’s expectations spot on.

For me, the online booking was pretty much painless. It’s simply a matter of clicking buttons and filling out details. The tedious part though was going through the terms and conditions which I strongly suggest you, the client, do (if this isn’t something you feel like accomplishing, let someone else do it for you because the information will save you a lot of questions/complaints). I browsed the items that were included and excluded (such as credit card surcharge and optional extras) in my quote before finally making the booking. The confirmation was almost instant.

Because DriveNow is a booking service, when a rented vehicle is finally picked up, client must deal directly to supplier and must agree to their terms. We didn’t have any issues with ours for we chose a car rental company we’ve used before. And well, because we gathered every info we needed for the transaction.

It is a quarter of an effort compared to visiting every car rental website. Saves so much time and sanity. We’re satisfied. Totally satisfied that we’re now planning to hire one of the campervans offered on the site when we get back from our upcoming trip. We’re prolly even gonna do the one-way campervan hire relocation. A looong distance one. Now that’s gonna be a new adventure!
